If your DipJar is plugged in but is displaying an “X” or “Hello” instead of its preset dollar amount, it means that the cellular signal isn’t strong enough for your DipJar to operate.
What should I do?
Depending on the cellular strength in the area, your DipJar may be able to connect so that it can display its preset dollar amount and collect dips.
Try moving the DipJar to a new location — even if only a foot or two away. Give it a few minutes in the new spot to connect. If you try a few locations for a few minutes each and your DipJar is still displaying the “X” or “Hello,” then the overall signal strength is likely too weak in your area to support a DipJar connection.
Submit a “DipJar Signal Strength” request here and we will look into your DipJar health. When you do, please include the 6-digit serial number on the bottom of your DipJar so we can properly identify it. Also, please keep your DipJar plugged in. That way, we can run tests to find out if there are anything we can do remotely to improve your DipJar’s performance.
If you are experiencing signal strength problems, we apologize for the inconvenience! We are continually working to remediate challenges caused by incomplete cellular network coverage, and we appreciate your understanding.
